What is Chiroso Bourbon?
It is a mutation of the Bourbon variety, which itself is a well-known and highly regarded coffee varietal originating from the Bourbon Island. Chiroso Bourbon is celebrated for its distinctive flavor profile. It often features bright acidity, floral notes, and complex fruity flavors. These attributes make it particularly desirable among specialty coffee enthusiasts
This coffee was grown by Jairo Arcila at the farm Santa Mónica. This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. The coffee was sundried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved.
This microlot is 100% Chiroso. This varietal is a natural mutation that took place in Urrao, Antioquia. For the last 5 years, this varietal has become extremely popular in Colombia for its complexity, florals, and citrus notes.
